Hey, Where'd All My Companions Go?: Alliance Alert Guide

 When you start Knights of the Fallen Empire, you lose all of your companions. Yes, you read that right. But don't worry, you can get them back (with their influence levels intact, so you don't need to worry about that) along with a lot of the companions from the other seven class stories. This is why I suggest completing all eight class stories before starting Fallen Empire.

Story - all classes

These companions return as part of the story and are automatically recruited by all classes.

  • T7-O1 - KotFE Chapter 3
  • Kaliyo Djannis - KotFE Chapter 10
  • Aric Jorgan - KotFE Chapter 11
  • Gault Rennow - KotFE Chapter 13
  • Vette - KotFE Chapter 13
  • Torian Cadera - KotFE Chapter 14
  • Elara Dorne - Iokath (if siding with the Republic)
  • Malavai Quinn - Iokath (if siding with the Empire)
  • Raina Temple - A Traitor Among the Chiss
  • Kira Carsen* - after Objective Meridian
  • Scourge* - after Objective Meridian
*Kira and Scourge join you regardless of your class and there is nothing further you need to do to recruit them, but you can only do their special Alliance Alerts "The Padawan Returns" and "Wrath Triumphant" if you're a Jedi Knight.

Alliance Alerts - all classes

Alliance Alerts are short quests that allow you to recruit new companions. You can view your available Alliance Alerts in your Companions window. During KotFE Chapter 9, you receive the Alliance Alert "To Find a Findsman" which recruits Yuun. Completing it unlocks all subsequent Alliance Alerts. These Alliance Alerts can be done by all classes.
  • Yuun - KotFE Chapter 9 (To Find a Findsman)
  • Talos Drellik - after KotFE Chapter 9 (Fighting Power with Knowledge)
  • Xalek - after KotFE Chapter 9 (Death Before Dishonor)
  • Broonmark - after KotFE Chapter 14 (The Last of His Kind)
  • Guss Tuno - after KotFE Chapter 16 (Shining in the Darkness) (requires Blizz to be recruited first)
Alliance Alerts - semi-exclusive

These companions are also technically available to all classes, but require doing difficult and tedious tasks until their influence level reaches 10, after which you can recruit them. If you already have at least influence level 10 with any of them, you can bypass the mission and recruit them much more easily.
  • Bowdaar - after KotFE Chapter 9 (Freedom Fight)
  • Eckard Lokin - after KotFE Chapter 9 (A Kindly Old Monster) (can only be recruited during the Rakghoul Resurgence event)
  • M1-4X - after KotFE Chapter 9 (The Booming Vocoder For Freedom) (Republic characters only)
  • Pierce - after KotFE Chapter 9 (The Forgotten Trophy) (Imperial characters only)
  • Qyzen Fess - after KotFE Chapter 9 (Stalking the Score)
  • Blizz - after KotFE Chapter 10 (Little Boss)
  • Fideltin Rusk and Skadge - after KotFE Chapter 16 (Bonds of Duty) (can only recruit one or the other)
Exclusive

These companions can only be recruited by their original classes.
  • Akaavi Spar and Mako - after KotET Chapter 9 (The Tatooine Rundown)
  • Ashara Zavros - after KotET Chapter 9 (A Padawan No More)
  • Andronikos Revel - after KotET Chapter 9 (Pirate's Life)
  • Corso Riggs and Risha - after KotET Chapter 9 (Unhappy Returns)
  • Felix Iresso - after KotET Chapter 9 (Jail Broken)
  • Vector Hyllus - after KotET Chapter 9 (Vector's Vector)
  • Doc - after Ossus (Mending Ties)
  • Jaesa Willsaam - after Ossus (Back in the Fold/Feel the Wrath)
  • Khem Val - after Ossus (A Long-Lost Hunger)
  • Nadia Grell - after Ossus (The Padawan and Her Master)
  • Tharan Cedrax - after Objective Meridian (Long-Awaited Genius)
  • Zenith - after Spirit of Vengeance
Non-recruitable/temporary
  • Tanno Vik - KotFE Chapter 6 (cannot be recruited even if you are a Trooper)
  • SCORPIO - automatically recruited by all characters in KotFE Chapter 7, but leaves in Chapter 15

These are all the currently released expansions that follow the class stories, in the order which you are meant to do them. Depending on your character's gender, at least one of your  companions will be romanceable! To romance a companion, select [Flirt] options during their conversations. Influence level does not affect romance. Character Creation Guide, Part 1: Origin Stories

 This is the first thing you see when creating a new character in SWTOR. Upon picking a faction, you'll be prompted to pick one of four origin stories, a combat style, and your character's gender. Gender can be changed when customizing your character's appearance. Your combat style determines your abilities. Your origin story is more commonly called your class, and from here on I'm going to refer to origin stories as classes for simplicity's sake.
